💖 World Heart Day in the Spiritual Capital | A Unique Celebration in the Centenary Year of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba | Sep 27, 2025

In a historic first, the serene abode of Prasanthi Nilayam — the spiritual capital of the world — became the chosen venue for the World Heart Day celebrations, marking a rare confluence of spirituality and global healthcare. That this landmark occasion coincided with the 100th Birthday Year of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba lent the initiative an even deeper spiritual resonance.

Yes, you heard it right — for the very first time, the World Heart Federation has looked to a spiritual centre as the host of its global observance of World Heart Day, held every year on 29th September.

Launch of the Medical Camp

The day began with the inauguration of a specialised medical camp at N1 building by Mr RJ Rathnakar (Managing Trustee, SSSCT) alongside Dr V Mohan (Trustee, SSSCT) in the august presence of Mr Krishna Rao, Organising Chairman of the Global Cardiovascular Conference, amidst eminent doctors from the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council. The camp has screened over 350 patients for cardiovascular risks and an equal number for diabetes.

Cutting-edge tests, such as CT Coronary Calcium Screening & Glucose Tolerance Test, are being conducted with expert support from Bhagawan’s hospitals, alongside doctors from SSSGC, SSSSO, and nursing college students.

Exhibition on Preventive Cardiology

Adding a holistic dimension to the initiative, an Exhibition on Preventive Cardiology was inaugurated in the Satsang Hall, adjacent to the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre. Open to the public for three days (11 AM – 4 PM), the exhibition highlights the essential role of awareness, lifestyle, and preventive measures in protecting the heart.

While the medical camp and exhibition captured professional attention, what truly touched hearts was the overwhelming response of students from the schools and campuses of the Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions. Despite exams and extracurricular commitments, their participation was nothing short of phenomenal:

  • 650+ participants across three schools and all campuses
  • 150+ digital posters designed with creativity and precision
  • 150+ hand-made posters brimming with sincerity and imagination
  • 75+ 3D working models explaining complex concepts in simple ways
  • 75+ interactive sessions, games, and activities to spread awareness

Moved by the creativity, sincerity, and passion of the students, dignitaries remarked that these youthful offerings had the power to touch hearts and inspire lasting lifestyle changes — aligning perfectly with the vision of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba: “Health is Wealth. Happiness is Health. Health is Holiness.”

A Centenary-Year Offering of Love and Awareness

This year’s World Heart Day in Prasanthi Nilayam stands as a testimony to how science and spirituality can unite for the welfare of humanity. By hosting such a conference and initiative in the Divine Abode, the message goes beyond statistics and screenings — it reaffirms that a healthy heart is not only a matter of medicine, but also of love, balance, and values.

Truly, in the Centenary Year of Bhagawan, the celebration of World Heart Day in Prasanthi Nilayam is more than an event — it is a movement of hearts, inspired by Love, guided by Wisdom, and sustained by Service.
