our spiritual and personal development:

- Devotional singing/prayer with family members once a week.
- Participation of children in the family in Sai Spiritual Education (Bal Vikas Programme).
- Participation in community service and other programmes of the Organisation.
- Attendance at least once a month at group devotional singing organised by the Sai Centre.
- Regular study of Sai literature and the literature of all the great religions and saints.
- Speaking softly and lovingly to everyone.
- Not indulging in bad-mouthing others, especially in their absence.
- Practicing the principle of “ceiling desires” and continuously striving to eliminate the tendency to waste time, money, food and energy; and utilising any savings thus generated for the service of humanity.
The ten guiding principles
(Given by Sathya Sai Baba in His discourse of 21st November 1985)
- Love and serve your country. Do not criticize other countries.
- Honor all religions, each is a path to the One God.
- Love all without distinction; humanity is one community.
- Keep your home and surroundings clean.
- Help people to be self-sufficient. Provide food and shelter, love and care, to the sick and elderly.
- Do not tempt others by offering bribes or demean yourself by accepting them.
- Do not be carried away by jealousy, hatred, and envy at any time.
- Do not depend on others to fulfill your personal needs, you must be your own servant before serving others.
- Worship God, abhor sin.
- Observe the laws of the country and be exemplary citizens.
