The sacred festival of Sri Rama Navami was marked by the grand and celestial wedding of Lord Sri Rama and Mother Sita, performed with great devotion and traditional fervour in the divine precincts of Prasanthi Nilayam, sanctified by the eternal presence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Held in the Sai Kulwant Hall, the Sita Rama Kalyanam unfolded amidst the resonant chanting of Vedic hymns, devotional music, and the spiritually charged presence of thousands of devotees who had gathered from across the country and abroad. The ceremony symbolises the divine union of dharma and purity. The proceedings included sacred rituals such as Ganapati Puja, Navagraha Puja, and the auspicious Mangalyadharana, performed in accordance with scriptural injunctions.
A remarkable highlight of this year’s offering was the collective devotion expressed through bakshanam samarpanam, wherein over 300 varieties of sacred food items were lovingly prepared and offered by devotees from the states of Telangana and Karnataka. Equally moving was the preparation of the talambralu (sacred rice), an integral component of the celestial wedding ritual. Devotees from all 31 districts of Telangana participated in this sacred seva with deep reverence, painstakingly removing the husk manually and preparing the rice with purity and devotion.
The beautifully adorned idols of Lord Rama and Mother Sita, draped in exquisite silk garments and ornaments, radiated divine grace as the sacred wedding rituals were performed.
