Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Sai Ram.
As we gather in reverence to celebrate the sacred festival of Guru Purnima, we reflect upon the timeless wisdom and divine teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, which continue to inspire and guide our mission and activities across the world. globally.
With Bhagawan’s blessings, the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) is pleased to announce leadership transitions in several Zones following careful deliberation and the recommendations of the SSSGC Overseas Executive Committee.
Zone 1
We express our deepest gratitude to Dr Axay Kalathia, who has served with exemplary equanimity, intellectual clarity, and devotion as Zone 1 Chairman since the inception of the SSSGC. Under his stewardship, Zone 1 has emerged structurally and spiritually stronger than ever. This is reflected in vibrant Prasanthi Nilayam pilgrimages, impactful service projects, and deep member engagement across the Zone. Dr Axay will continue to offer his valuable counsel as the SSSGC expands.
Moving forward, we are pleased to announce the following appointments for Zone 1:
- Prof. Sethuraman Panchanathan is appointed as the Zone 1 Chairman.
- Prof. Balu Karanam will assume the position of Central Coordinator.
- Sri Pradosh Dessai will assume the position of National Council President (USA)

Zone 4
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Mr Amar Karki for his conscientious leadership as Zone 4 Chairman since the inception of the SSSGC. His disciplined methodology and commitment have established a firm foundation for Zone 4, as evidenced by well-coordinated pilgrimages, community service initiatives, and the strength of local centres.
Sri Surendra Bhandari is appointed as the Zone 4 Chairman.
Zone 5
We convey our sincere commendation to Brother Danesh for his steadfast guidance as Zone 5 Chairman during the council’s formative years. His thoughtful leadership has fostered deep unity across the region, highlighted by expanding service projects, active centres, and, notably, the grand success and cultural harmony of the Chinese New Year celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam.
Sri Mahendran is appointed as the Zone 5 Chairman.
Zone 9
Sri Jacky Hathiramani is appointed as National Council President (Nigeria)
