As the three-day Onam celebrations got underway in Prasanthi Nilayam, devotees from Kerala have gathered to offer their loving respects in the Divine Presence. This evening featured a soulful instrumental devotional program titled ‘Sai Bhavarasam’, a violin duet performed by sibling duo Ms Gayathri S and Mr Vydyanathan S, trained under the guidance of Vidushi Ms Sunitha Harishankar and violin maestro Mr VVS Murari.
This evening, they were joined by Mr Balaji Subramanian on the mridangam, Mr Navneet Krishnan S on the rhythm pad, Mr Sriram Narayan on the keyboard, and Mr Bhagyalakshmi Srinivasan on talam. The ensemble made a brilliant start with a Carnatic varnam, setting a wonderful tone for the rest of the night.
The duo then offered popular Carnatic Kritis like ‘Shobhillu Saptaswara’ and ‘Manavyala Kinchara’, extolling God as the very source of sound and music, captivating the audience with their soulful renditions. They went on to blend various ragas through an expert medley of Carnatic Thillanas that truly uplifted the atmosphere. The evening concluded with the lovely Sai bhajan ‘Vanamali Vasudeva’, which echoed beautifully throughout the sacred Sai Kulwant Hall.
