The 8th National Convention of Sri Sathya Sai Schools commenced at Prasanthi Nilayam this morning, bringing together educators, school administrators, teachers and students from across the country in a collective reaffirmation of Bhagawan’s vision of Educare.

The inaugural proceedings began with Vedic invocations by students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute, Chromepet, Chennai, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by revered dignitaries.

Delivering the welcome address, Mr Umesh Dang, Co-convenor, SSSNCS, highlighted the nationwide reach of the Sai educational movement, with 104 schools, over 52,000 students, 2,700 teachers and more than one lakh parents.

Speaking on ‘Practising Sai Philosophy’, Mr Tribhuvan Sachdeva, Convenor, SSSNCS, called upon educators to move beyond professing faith to practising Bhagawan’s teachings in thought, word and deed.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Nimish Pandya, AlP, SSSO, emphasised the timeless relevance of the Gurukula system, highlighting the pivotal role of the teacher, supported by parents, in nurturing children into individuals of integrity, wisdom and selfless service.

Following the morning proceedings at the Mandir, a thoughtfully curated two-floor exhibition was inaugurated at Satsang hall, showcasing the practical application of Bhagawan’s educational philosophy. The first floor featured nine thematic displays by the National Council for Sri Sathya Sai Schools, covering its initiatives in pre-primary education, environmental studies, guidance & communication, Veda recitation, essential yoga, Bhagawan’s life & teachings, research, wellness & fitness, etc.

The second floor housed 21 stalls centred on the theme of ‘Independence’, exploring its dimensions across the physical and social, mental, emotional and psychological, and spiritual domains. Together, the exhibits offered an experiential glimpse into how Sai education nurtures well-rounded individuals, equipping students with the values, understanding and self-discipline necessary to lead purposeful lives.
