The Young Adults Leadership for Self-Transformation (YALST) program commenced this morning with great fervour, reflecting the divine intent behind its inception—nurturing leaders who lead by example, embody practice, and pursue the path of inner transformation with sincerity.
Over the years, YALST has blossomed into a global movement, uniting young adults from 9 zones across 18 countries, all bound by a shared aspiration to live by the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. With a thoughtfully structured format that includes five immersive online modules culminating in a spiritually elevating three-day residential retreat at Prasanthi Nilayam, the program continues to empower young minds. This year, 223 graduates emerged from the course with renewed clarity, deepened conviction, and a heartfelt commitment to walk the path of selfless service and love.
The morning’s proceedings began with sacred Vedic chants as participants entered in procession into the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre. The ceremonial lamp was lit by Mr RJ Rathnakar (Managing Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust), Mr Sathyapalan (Chairman, Zone 8 – SSSGC), and Mr Soobrie Naidu (Chairman, Zone 9 – SSSGC), signifying the auspicious beginning of this transformative journey.
In his inspiring address to the young graduates, Mr Rathnakar emphasised the need for youth to embark on their spiritual path early in life, drawing from Bhagawan’s timeless message: “Start early, drive slowly, and reach safely.” He urged participants not to delay their spiritual awakening, but to embrace it during their prime, when the heart is open and the intellect sharp. With Swami’s loving assurance that He is both Guru and God, the journey transforms into a sacred adventure—one that shapes not just the individual, but the world around them.
Mr Rathnakar reminded the youth that spirituality is not about renunciation or withdrawal, but about spiritualising one’s life—transforming every action, every relationship, and every moment into an offering of love and awareness, rooted in divine purpose.
The YALST program stands as a living testament to Bhagawan’s vision, encapsulated in His profound call: “Live for Me. Live My message.” With each passing year, the program strengthens its legacy, opening new doorways for transformation and service. It invites every young seeker not merely to learn Swami’s teachings, but to live them, breathe them, and become a radiant reflection of His message in the world.
