With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a new chapter of holistic growth and academic excellence was inaugurated today at the Brindavan Campus of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Kadugodi, Bengaluru.
The day was marked by the gracious presence of Mr RJ Rathnakar (Managing Trustee, SSSCT) and Prof B Raghavendra Prasad (Vice-Chancellor, SSSIHL), who together inaugurated four significant new facilities that stand as a testament to Bhagawan’s vision of nurturing intellect, spirit, and service.
- Centre of Excellence in Actuarial Data Science (CADS)
This pioneering initiative aims to further strengthen research leadership and academic rigour in the highly specialised field of Actuarial Data Science.
Key Achievements of CADS:
- PhD Pioneers: SSSIHL holds the distinction of awarding the first two Ph.D. degrees in Actuarial Science in India (2021).
- CAS University Award 2022: The first Indian university to be globally recognised for excellence in Property & Casualty actuarial education.
- CAS Gold-Level Recognition 2023: The only university in Asia to receive this highest-level honour.
- SOA UCAP Advanced Curriculum 2023: The only Indian university accredited with this prestigious recognition by the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
- Actuarial Excellence: Over ten Fellows and Associates and hundreds of successful actuarial exam pass-outs from esteemed global bodies like IFoA, CAS, SOA, and IAI.
This Centre reflects Bhagawan’s emphasis on academic brilliance grounded in values, creating professionals who serve society with skill and selflessness.
- New MBA Faculty Room
Further enhancing the academic environment, a newly built Staff Room was inaugurated to support the MBA faculty members. The space is thoughtfully designed with modern amenities, encouraging faculty interaction, collaboration, and preparation in a comfortable and professional setting. This initiative reinforces the Institute’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality infrastructure to its academic community.
- Prayer-cum-Dining Hall for Students
In a heartwarming and spiritually uplifting development, a new Prayer-cum-Dining Hall, with a seating capacity of over 500 students, was also inaugurated. This spacious facility is not just meant for nourishing the body but is envisioned as a sacred space that nurtures the spirit through prayerful dining. On this occasion, Dr T Ravi Kumar fondly recollected the sacred tradition of chanting Brahmarpanam and the Sai Gayatri before meals—practices that began in this very campus and continue to fill daily life with spiritual meaning.
- New Seminar Hall
Providing a state-of-the-art venue for guest lectures, academic discussions, seminars, and student presentations, this hall is designed to foster interactive learning. The upgraded facility reflects the university’s focus on scholarly exchange, various student-centric events and intellectual refinement.
Mr Rathnakar and Prof Prasad reflected on the glorious past of the Brindavan Campus, reminiscing about the simplicity, sanctity, and Divine proximity that defined its golden era. The new dining facility stands as a humble offering at Bhagawan’s Feet, echoing His ideal of integral education where academics, values, and devotion converge in harmony.
