The sacred ambience of Prasanthi Nilayam was filled with the fragrance of wisdom and devotion as Sai Kulwant Hall witnessed the 63rd edition of the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha this evening.
The evening commenced with a profound and thought-provoking talk by Prof Pallav Kumar Baruah, Dean of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. With remarkable clarity, he unfolded the process of solving life’s most fundamental questions by first simplifying the complex. “To find the solution to any original problem,” he observed, “we must reduce it to its simplest statement.”
With this approach, Prof Baruah delved into the grand challenge problem – “Who am I?” – a timeless question that has stirred seekers across traditions, even echoed in the enquiries of the Greek philosopher Socrates. He highlighted how this enquiry is not an abstract intellectual pursuit but a living spiritual journey, to be undertaken with sincerity and humility.
Drawing upon Bhagawan’s profound teaching of Vyakti – Samashti – Srishti – Parameshti, he illuminated the journey from the individual to the cosmic, culminating in the realisation of the Divine. Quoting Swami’s immortal words, “Work is Worship, Duty is God,” he reminded the gathering that true worship lies in selfless action performed with dedication. He also touched upon the essence of the Bhagavad Gita, drawing parallels from Swami’s assurance that even the simplest offerings – patram, pushpam, phalam, toyam – become supremely sanctified when offered with love.
Following this enlightening address, the audience was uplifted by an electrifying thematic musical presentation titled ‘Raga Shakti’ by the students of the Nandigiri Campus, SSSIHL. Beginning with a soulful invocation to Lord Ganesha, the presentation flowed into Bhairavi Namostute, followed by a vibrant instrumental bhajan medley in a captivating fusion style. The performance reached sublime heights with stirring renditions of Ramam Raghavam and the powerful Ayigiri Nandini, each segment interspersed with heartfelt narrations that elevated the spiritual atmosphere.
