Ashadi Ekadashi Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam | Day 1 – Evening Session | July 24, 2026

The sacred evening proceedings of the Ashadi Ekadashi celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam commenced with the joyous arrival of over 2,000 Sai Warkaris, who completed their 50-kilometre padayatra from Dharmavaram to the Divine abode of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

Echoing the timeless tradition of the Warkaris of Maharashtra, who undertake the arduous pilgrimage to Pandharpur in loving adoration of Lord Vitthala, the Sai Warkaris walked with unwavering faith and devotion, carrying beautifully adorned palanquins bearing the sacred idols of Vitthala-Rakhumai and Bhagawan’s photograph. Their arrival was marked by an atmosphere of deep devotion as they were warmly received by the Managing Trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Mr RJ Rathnakar, and the All India President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, India, Mr Nimish Pandya. Resonating with Vedic chants, bhajans, jaikars, dhol-tasha beats, and the rhythmic singing of abhangs, the pilgrimage was far more than a physical journey—it was a moving expression of gratitude, devotion, and divine love.

Adding to the devotional fervour of the evening, the Sai Youth from Maharashtra offered a soulful musical presentation titled ‘Bhavamrutadhara’. Through a series of melodious devotional songs steeped in love and longing for the Divine, the singers created an atmosphere of spiritual bliss, complementing the sanctity of Ashadi Ekadashi and bringing the opening day’s celebrations to a deeply uplifting conclusion.
