Devotional Music Program by Mr Hariharan | Guru Poornima Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam | July 10, 2025

A serene and spiritually uplifting evening unfolded in the hallowed precincts of Sai Kulwant Hall on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima. The evening began with all the office bearers of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations — state presidents and in-charges — offering their collective heartfelt gratitude to the eternal Jagat Guru by presenting their respective annual reports, recounting a year of service inspired by Bhagawan’s teachings.

Following this, the audience was treated to a soul-stirring devotional music concert by the legendary Indian playback singer, Mr Hariharan.

Mr Hariharan Anantha Subramani has had the great good fortune of singing in Bhagawan’s divine presence on four occasions — twice in 2007, including the 85th Birthday celebrations in the morning, and for the first time as a young lad in 1988, when Bhagawan visited Bombay and blessed him with the opportunity to offer his music.

With a career spanning over four decades, Mr Hariharan’s mellifluous voice, accompanied by his talented ensemble, reverberated through the Hall, invoking deep devotion in every heart. Blending the rich traditions of Carnatic and Hindustani music, each rendition became a fragrant offering at the Lotus Feet of the Sadguru — the Divine Master who lovingly leads devotees from darkness to light, from bondage to liberation.

The evening began on an apt note for Guru Poornima with the contemplative Pratah Smaranam Sri Guru Charanam. He recreated the magic of Janani Maa Sai Maa, the cherished bhajan he had sung during the Guru Poornima celebrations in 2007. His evocative rendition of Kaise Jiyun Main Yun Tere Bin — originally sung by him in a popular ghazal album — culminated in a powerful and ecstatic Vitthal Vitthal abhang, uplifting the entire gathering into a wave of devotion.

As the final notes faded into the evening stillness, every heart overflowed with gratitude for Bhagawan’s ceaseless love and the grace that makes such sacred moments possible.
