When the Divine is welcomed with love, even the simplest offering becomes sacred. And when that love is expressed through innocent hearts, boundless imagination and collective devotion, the celebration itself becomes a beautiful offering at the Lotus Feet. The grand culmination of Ganesh Chaturthi at Prasanthi Nilayam was a radiant celebration of this very spirit. Year after year, devotion finds newer and more creative expressions, and this year too, the celebrations seemed to outdo themselves — more vibrant, cheerful, imaginative and grand, yet ever rooted in the timeless glory of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and bestower of wisdom.
The grand culmination witnessed a magnificent procession of beautifully crafted chariots and tableaux, each one a unique offering at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Some spoke through flowers and colours, some through stories and symbols, some through contemporary imagination, and others through sacred iconography.
The students of the Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School brought alive an enchanting world of imagination. ‘Aviator Creator’ depicted Lord Ganesha descending from His heavenly abode to shower wisdom and love, while ‘Vinayaka Voyagers’ transformed the Lord into the Divine Captain, steering the ship of life across the ocean of desires. There was youthful charm in Pikachu and the Pokeball, conveying the presence of the Divine within everything, while ‘Chandra Padma Ratha’ presented Ganesha upon a blooming lotus beneath the serene full moon. A spectacular golden rotating lotus reminded all of the unity of the Divine.
The younger children of the Primary School presented a mighty Airavata followed by a radiant unfolding lotus, symbolising strength, wisdom and purity. The Eswaramma High School offered ‘Kala Yantra’ — a time machine that took viewers through the sacred timeline of Bhagawan’s life and His ever-expanding mission.
The students of SSSIHL added another dimension of imagination by presenting Ganesha as the Cosmic Master, surrounded by the sun, moon and stars. Another batch created a profound tableau of Shesh Nag, Trishul and Lotus, portraying Ganesha as Parabrahma. The Main Institute chariot brought together the Matsya and Kurma Avatars and symbols of righteousness and knowledge, while the Administrative Block presented Nandi bearing Ganesha.
The Airport staff offered Krishnamaya Ganesha with a flute, while the Super Speciality Hospital staff celebrated 35 years of medical service with Ganesha seated upon a golden swing. The General Hospital staff brought the sacred Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra alive, while the Central Trust staff drew inspiration from the doors of Bhagawan’s Interview Room. The Sadhana Trust created a heavenly temple of devotion, while the Alumni celebrated their lifelong bond with Mayur Ganesha, flanked by majestic peacocks. The Mandir Maintenance staff offered Gaja Mukha, with Lord Ganesha seated regally between two radiant white elephants.
Adding to the festive fervour were lively and colourful dance presentations that brought the celebration to life with rhythm, energy and devotion. These vibrant performances set the tone for the grand procession that followed.
