On this sacred morning of Ganesh Chaturthi, Prasanthi Nilayam awoke to an ambience of devotion and festivity, with hearts brimming in gratitude to the remover of obstacles, Lord Ganesha.
O Lord of auspicious beginnings,
Embodiment of wisdom and bliss,
As the clouds veiled the heavens in elephant-grey,
Thy divine presence filled every heart today.
The skies themselves seemed to echo His arrival—dark clouds, like the mighty elephant, spread across the horizon, symbolically signifying His all-pervading presence. Amidst this sanctified atmosphere, the students and staff of Sri Sathya Sai Institutions offered their collective homage to Lord Ganesha in the form of devotional songs, stotrams, and ashtakams. Beginning with the resonant chant “Ekadantam Mahakayam”, the offerings flowed in a sublime sequence—
- Jaya Jaya Shubakara
- Pranamya Shirasa
- Main Ganapati Ke Gun Gaaon
- Ajam Nirvikalpam
- Mudakarata Modakam
- Gananayaka Ganadaivataya
Each hymn, soaked in bhakti, filled Sai Kulwant Hall with vibrations of peace and auspiciousness.
The hall itself radiated festive grandeur—gold and red festoons, soft confetti, and fragrant floral decorations lending a sacred glow to the divine abode. The presiding Ganesha at the entrance of the ashram shone resplendently in his silver kavach, a special adornment lovingly offered every Thursday, Sunday, and festival day. Enhancing the sanctity further, a colourful and fragrant gajamala was reverentially offered by the Managing Trustee, Mr RJ Rathnakar, at the shrine.
Equally captivating was the Umbrella Ganesha, which stood in majestic beauty, adorned with fresh floral artistry and radiant backdrops. The altar drew countless devotees, each pouring forth their prayers for strength, wisdom, and the removal of all obstacles in the journey of life.
On this holy occasion, Prasanthi Nilayam once again reminded all gathered that Lord Ganesha is not merely the Vighneshwara—the remover of obstacles—but the eternal guardian of every sincere seeker who approaches the divine with humility and surrender.
May Lord Vighnaraja bless every devotee with unwavering faith, pure intellect, and the strength to walk steadfastly on the path of Dharma.
