Global Chinese New Year Celebrations | Day 2 | Feb 24, 2026

The two-day Global Chinese New Year celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam concluded this evening in an atmosphere of gratitude, unity, and devotion. Devotees from Zone 5 countries of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council—Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Taiwan—assembled as one spiritual family to offer their collective gratitude.

The second evening began with a heartfelt sharing by Mr Calvin Tan Kok Choon, who humbly recounted his journey with Swami from the age of eleven in a remote Malaysian village. He spoke of sustaining faith through life’s challenges and fondly recalled a life-transforming moment in the interview room when Swami compassionately granted him a new lease of life, advising him to use his time wisely. His offering concluded in profound gratitude for a life shaped by values and divine guidance.

Devotees from Singapore then presented a traditional Chinese orchestral recital, transforming Sai Kulwant Hall into the ambience of an ancient palace. The harmonious strains of classical instruments filled the air with serenity and grace, blending cultural heritage with devotional fervour.

The Indonesian devotees offered the Ganesha Sai Gita dance, inspired by Swami’s message of universal love. Through graceful Balinese movements and expressive mudras, the dance depicted the soul’s journey toward purity and enlightenment. The presentation culminated with the offering of a lotus and the resonant message, “Love All, Serve All.”

This was followed by a vibrant drama highlighting compassion toward all beings, humans and animals alike, drawn from China’s timeless Legend of the White Snake, one of the nation’s most cherished folk narratives. With colourful traditional costumes, evocative music, and festive backdrops, the story came alive with cultural splendour. The offering beautifully reflected Swami’s ideal of unity in diversity and reverence for all creation. More than folklore, it became a spiritual allegory—echoing Swami’s teaching that love is divine, life must be rooted in Dharma, and true devotion is expressed through righteous action and selfless service.

As the celebrations drew to a close, what remained was not merely the memory of artistic excellence, but the collective resolve to live by the eternal message of love and service. In the coming together of nations and cultures, one truth shone brightly: Love is the binding force of humanity, and service its sacred expression.
