Grama Seva by the devotees from Zone 3 Countries – SSSGC | Dec 23, 2205

By the boundless grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, devotees of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council – New Zealand were blessed to offer Grama Seva during their Prasanthi pilgrimage in 2025. Anchored in Swami’s eternal message of “Love All, Serve All,” the initiative stood as a heartfelt expression of love in action, rendered with humility and gratitude at His Divine Lotus Feet.

The initiative took root on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima (July 2025), when prayerful planning and village interactions commenced. By Swami’s grace, a cluster of villages—Narayanapuram, Bandlapalli, Vannurappalli, Kammavari Palli Colony, Obuladevara Palli, and Locharla—was identified, encompassing nearly 450 households and touching the lives of around 2,000 villagers.

Addressing a key community need, a water filtration plant was established at Narayanapuram to provide safe, fluoride-free drinking water to the entire cluster. The facility was inaugurated by Mr RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Upholding Swami’s emphasis on education, school bags and stationery were distributed to children with love and encouragement.

A comprehensive medical camp was organised, offering general health check-ups, diabetes screening, eye and dental care. By Swami’s grace, 110 villagers received medical attention along with free medicines. A veterinary camp was also conducted to support livestock health and rural livelihoods, while wheelchairs were distributed to the elderly and differently-abled to ease mobility.

In the spirit of Narayana Seva, Amrutha Kalasam—containing groceries, dry fruits, and clothes—was distributed to families across the villages, reaffirming Swami’s eternal truth that service to man is service to God.

Several initiatives also strengthened the spiritual and community fabric of the villages. Support was extended to rebuild the Sri Rama Temple at Vannurappalli and install new idols. At Obuladevara Palli, a permanent shelter was constructed to facilitate Bal Vikas classes and devotional gatherings. The Kalyana Mandapam at Locharla, originally built by Bhagawan nearly 25–30 years ago, was fully renovated and lovingly offered back to the villagers, preserving His divine legacy. Additionally, bhajan instruments and a sound system were donated to the Sai Centre to support regular devotional activities.

With folded hands and grateful hearts, the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council – New Zealand offers this Grama Seva at His Divine Lotus Feet, praying that Swami may continue to guide all on the sacred path of Love, Service, and Sacrifice.
