The devotees from the USA belonging to Zone 1 of Sri Sathya Sai Global Council (SSSGC) who are currently on a sacred pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam undertook a Grama Seva on Tuesday as a heartfelt expression of gratitude to Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, rededicating themselves to His mission of selfless service. Living His eternal dictum, “Love All, Serve All,” the devotees travelled nearly 40 kilometres from Puttaparthi to Chennepetta Village in Chennekothapalli Mandal. For many visiting from the bustling cities of the United States, the picturesque drive through the lush green countryside offered a refreshing glimpse of rural India before they immersed themselves in serving its people.
The pilgrims were joined by the Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Mr RJ Rathnakar, office-bearers of USA, and functionaries of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations. On reaching the village, they were accorded a traditional welcome by the villagers with a ceremonial procession. As part of the Grama Seva, Amrutha Kalashas with essential grocery provisions, along with stationery kits for children, were lovingly distributed to all 150 families in the village, bringing joy and reassurance to every household.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Rathnakar recalled Bhagawan’s profound message, “Bhajana unte vibhajana undadu” (Where there is bhajan, there is no division), stressing that collective devotion fosters unity, harmony, and peace in society. He commended the dedicated efforts of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh, for establishing 45 Bhajan Mandalis across all 45 villages in Chennekothapalli Mandal. He also highlighted the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust’s Ragi Java initiative, through which a nutritious millet-based health drink is being provided to over 3.2 million government school children across Andhra Pradesh. Further, he spoke about the Trust’s collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh in promoting Human Values education in government schools, under which more than 4,000 government teachers have already been trained, reaffirming Bhagawan’s vision of transforming society through education, nutrition, and spiritual values.
