Guru Poornima Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam | July 10, 2025

On this most sacred day of Guru Poornima, devotees gathered with hearts suffused with love, reverence, and surrender to the Eternal Jagat Guru – Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. The early morning air in Prasanthi Nilayam was filled with a serene stillness, as if the very skies paused in homage to the eternal teacher who lights the way in darkness.

The morning’s sanctified atmosphere was further elevated by the mellifluous and soul-stirring Guru Vandana songs rendered by the Prasanthi Bhajan Group. Each note seemed to rise straight from the heart and ascend to the divine feet of the Master, enveloping all present in a cocoon of love and devotion that words can scarcely describe.

This was followed by a deeply stirring talk by Mr SS Naganand (Member, SSSCT), who reflected on the profound significance of the Guru in our lives. He spoke with humility and clarity about how Guru Poornima magnifies that sanctity manifold, which fell on this Guruvara (the sacred Thursday). He reminded us that in the very presence of such a Master, even simple bhajans become pathways to inner peace. Each note, each name chanted, melts away the clutter of the mind and allows the soul to bask in the grace in the presence of His Sannidhi.

Following this was the deeply contemplative talk by Mr Nimish Pandya (AIP – SSSSO), who spoke with moving simplicity on the themes of gratitude and surrender. He reminded us that in this Kaliyuga, the Creator Himself comes as Guru, extending His hand toward each of us in unconditional compassion. Drawing from the life of Sant Tukaram and Lord Vitthala, he showed how true surrender means accepting everything — joy or sorrow — as His prasad. Holding the Guru’s hand through life, he said, is the greatest insurance one can have; a divine assurance that we are never alone, never abandoned.

The Guest of Honour, Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, graciously distributed farming equipment to 100 farmers from Sri Sathya Sai District, as a gesture aimed at enriching their livelihoods through sustainable practices and empowering them towards a more secure and prosperous future. The occasion was graced by Mr Satya Kumar Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, whose participation underscored the commitment of both the Centre and the State towards holistic rural development and community well-being.

A heartfelt address by the Hon’ble Minister, who spoke not just from the mind but clearly from a heart touched by grace. This is his first visit to Prasanthi and that too on Guru Poornima, though a frequent pilgrim to Shirdi made him even more merry. He expressed how every flower, every breeze, and every soul here speaks only of love — a love that is unconditional, universal, and eternal. In an atmosphere so deeply charged with the living presence of the Divine, he said, how can one differentiate between you and me? The same consciousness dwells in all, and to recognise this unity is the highest understanding the Guru imparts.

As the morning concluded, there was a quiet stillness — not of silence alone, but of hearts stilled in the warmth of the Guru’s love. May we continue to walk in His light, in gratitude and humility, ever mindful of the divine treasure we are blessed with.

Earlier this morning, the Hon’ble Minister planted a Rudraksha sapling in the premises of Shanti Bhavan, expressing his deep gratitude to Mother Nature. He shared that he hails from a farming family and that this connection to the soil has always remained close to his heart.
