With the boundless grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, a profoundly sacred moment unfolded at Prashanthi Vidya Kendra, Bayar, on Saturday evening, December 13, 2025. The Divine Padukas of Swami, reverentially brought from the holy abode of Prasanthi Nilayam, were ceremoniously installed in the main prayer hall of the Vidya Kendra. The holy installation was graciously performed by Mr RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, amidst an atmosphere surcharged with devotion and spiritual fervour.
Prashanthi Vidya Kendra, a residential institution nestled in the serene interiors of Bayar in Kasaragod District, Kerala, was established in 2000 with Bhagawan’s ideals of Educare at its heart. Having recently completed 25 years of selfless service in the field of value-based education, this divine installation of the Padukas sanctified the Silver Jubilee celebrations—symbolising Swami’s eternal presence and reaffirming the institution’s unwavering commitment to moulding students into ideal citizens grounded in human values. Currently, the Vidya Kendra is home to 450 students who are nurtured in an environment of discipline, devotion, and love.
The sacred evening commenced with a grand and devotional procession. The distinguished dignitaries were accorded a reverential welcome with resonant Vedic chanting and the ceremonial Kalasha. Mr Rathnakar garlanded Bhagawan’s Pallakki and offered prayers on behalf of all devotees present. The procession, enriched by the vibrant rhythms of Chande Vadana, the colourful splendour of Yakshagana, a graceful devotional dance, and the spirited school band, filled the campus with joy, devotion, and festive sanctity.
Within the sanctum of the main prayer hall, Mr Rathnakar reverentially installed the Divine Padukas. The hall reverberated with the heartfelt chants of “Jai Bolo Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Babaji Ki,” following which the inaugural stone was unveiled, marking yet another milestone in the institution’s sacred journey.
A brief multimedia presentation tracing the growth, milestones, and achievements of Prashanthi Vidya Kendra was screened thereafter, leading onto the stage programme. On this occasion, the school’s annual magazine ‘Prashanthi’ was released, and the winners of the state-level essay competition were honoured.
In his inspiring address, Mr Rathnakar wholeheartedly appreciated the dedication of the management, the committed efforts of the teachers, and the exemplary discipline and achievements of the students. He highlighted the school’s commendable accomplishments at the national level in sports, science exhibitions, and academics. Drawing from an incident in the life of Alexander the Great, he eloquently spoke on the greatness of Indian culture and underscored the timeless value of gratitude—especially reverence towards one’s parents. His words left a deep and lasting impression on all gathered.
The programme witnessed the participation of nearly 450 students, 50 teachers, and about 250 devotees, with a total gathering of close to 800. The sacred occasion was graced by several functionaries from the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Orgsanisations, Karnataka
