MOTHER SAI FOUNDATION
Founded by Italian lawyer Mr. Pietro Marena, in close association with Bhagawan and with significant funding contributions from Mr. Mario Candiani, a petrol industrialist, and Ivano Beggio, the renowned Italian entrepreneur behind the Aprilia motorcycle company. Work on the Mother Sai House commenced in the late 1980s. It was officially opened in 1990.
The Foundation is now headed by Mr. Marena’s daughter, Maria Antonietta Marena (Ninetta). Mother Sai serves as a spiritual lighthouse for Sai devotees across Europe.
The foundation actively supports international service projects, including a recent mission in Uganda (2023):
- Volunteers helped a local woman named Agnese, known for sheltering orphans and HIV-positive women.
- They provided food, school supplies, mattresses, and blankets.
- The initiative was praised by the Ugandan ambassador to Italy and embraced by people of various faiths.

Bhagawan even mentioned Maria Antonietta Marena in this 1998 discourse.
In Italy, there is a devotee who has learnt Brahma-sutras by heart. She can chant Rudram. There, she has constructed a building by the name ‘Mother Sai’, spread over 25 acres of land. Having full faith that one day swami will certainly visit that place, she also built a spacious hall like the Purnachandra Auditorium, so that public meetings could be held there. She also has constructed some rooms to accomodate students who follow Swami.
