Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 99th birthday celebrations were graced with divine music performed by eminent artists, making the evening a truly spiritual experience.

Belonging to the fifth generation of the illustrious shishya parampara of Saint Thyagaraja, the illustrious brother-sister duo presented a soul-enriching violin recital. Trained under the legendary tutelage of their grandfather, Sri Lalgudi Gopal Iyer, and their father, the legendary violin maestro Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman, the duo upheld their rich lineage with a flawless performance that showcased their unparalleled mastery of the instrument, combining intricate ragas with deep devotional fervour. Each note flowed with pristine clarity, immersing the audience in a divine musical experience.

To add to the grandeur, the Malladi brothers, known for their captivating Carnatic voice, enthralled the devotees with a heartfelt performance. Three generations of the Malladi family, who share the rare fortune of being directly blessed by Bhagawan, performed at this momentous evening. Their soulful renditions, drawn from rich classical compositions, conveyed a devotional essence that deeply moved the audience. The team, steeped in the Carnatic classical tradition, beautifully conveyed themes of surrender and devotion to Swami. With each kriti and bhajan, the artists reaffirmed their bond with Bhagawan, offering their collective talent as an act of gratitude and reverence.

Both concerts became an offering of pure bhakti, elevating the spiritual vibrations of the occasion and honouring Swami’s divine presence.
