Karma – Theatrical Performance by the Sai Youth from United Adilabad District – Mar 2, 2025

On the concluding session of the ongoing Parthi Yatra this evening, the Sai Youth from the United Adilabad District presented an exceptional drama titled ‘Karma’, which profoundly depicted the influence of prarabdha karma on an individual’s life and emphasised the necessity of confronting it. The narrative masterfully illustrated Bhagawan’s teachings that engaging in selfless service (seva), pure love, and unsullied meditation can mitigate the effects of prarabdha karma.

The story centres around Ramesh, a wealthy real estate dealer, who encounters Maharaj, a sage in ochre robe renowned for his prophecies that invariably come true. Maharaj forewarns Ramesh that both his legs would be incapacitated within a week. Disturbed by this ominous prediction, Ramesh seeks solutions from various quarters—consulting doctors, astrologers, insurance agents, bankers, friends, and family—but finds no solace or remedy.

In his despair, Ramesh meets the celestial sage Narada, who appears solely to him and inquires about his plan to face the impending adversity. Realising the futility of his efforts, Ramesh resigns to his fate and decides to spend his last day of mobility by participating in selfless service at the nearest Sai Samiti. To his astonishment, he awakens the next morning to find himself unharmed. Narada then elucidates that the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO) is not merely a non-profit organisation but an establishment by Bhagawan for one’s self-transformation. It was Ramesh’s sincere engagement in seva that altered the course of his destiny.

The drama poignantly conveyed the concept of prarabdha karma—the portion of past actions that influence the present life—and underscored the transformative power of selfless service. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba has often emphasised that seva is a path to self-purification and spiritual elevation. Swami has said that if we do SEVA, He will SAVE us.

The actors delivered compelling performances in their chaste accent, bringing depth and authenticity to their roles with timely humour. The portrayal of Ramesh’s journey from anxiety to enlightenment was particularly moving, capturing the audience’s empathy and reflection. The depiction of Maharaj and Narada added a spiritual dimension, symbolising the guiding forces that lead individuals towards self-realisation.

Earlier in the evening Sri G Hanumantha Reddy (Mancherial District Youth Coordinator) addressed the audience on how being with Swami is an endless hope and shared experiences of transformation and Seva.
