On this sacred Thursday evening in Prasanthi Nilayam, the Janmabhoomi & Karmabhoomi of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the 40th Anniversary of MBA Day was celebrated with devotion, gratitude, and grandeur. What made this occasion all the more significant was that it unfolded during the sacred Centenary Year of Bhagawan’s Advent, making it a double blessing for the Sai fraternity.
The students of the Department of Management Studies & Commerce of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning assembled in the Divine Presence to offer their heartfelt gratitude for four glorious decades of Bhagawan’s infinite love, guidance, and personal attention bestowed upon this flagship program of the Institute. They recalled with reverence that every brick of this department was laid with Bhagawan’s Vision, every lesson imbibed was sanctified by His Words, and every milestone achieved was graced by His Divine Hands.
The evening’s proceedings were a blend of soulful offerings that reflected the love of students and alumni for their Beloved Master. Short speeches were delivered by students, each shedding light on the profound attention showered by Bhagawan on the MBA program since its inception. They highlighted the unique features of this program, which stand apart from conventional management courses – for here, the essence of education is transformation, where excellence in worldly management is blended with the eternal values of self-management and character building.
Melodious songs, composed and sung by students, filled the Sai Kulwant Hall with deep emotion. A unique and creative offering came in the form of seven short poems in multiple Indian languages. These poems were woven around the definition of the word “MANAGER” as lovingly given by Bhagawan Himself:
- M – Mind of Man
- A – Awareness of Atma
- N – Nature of Nations
- A – Aspects of Environment
- G – Guidelines for Goodness
- E – Enquiry into Ethos
- R – Role of Rules
Through these multi-lingual poetic renderings, the students captured the universal and timeless essence of Bhagawan’s vision for management education – one that transcends boundaries of culture and commerce to embrace the higher purpose of life itself.
Earlier in the morning, the students and faculty held a special session at the Sai Hira Global Convention Centre, reminiscing on the glorious days with Bhagawan and reflecting on the true purpose of the MBA program. Distinguished guest speakers, occupying top positions in their professional spheres and steadfastly practising Bhagawan’s teachings in their lives, shared their journeys, thus inspiring the younger generation to walk the same sacred path.
The 40th MBA Day thus became not just a celebration of four decades, but a rededication of the students, faculty, and alumni to carry forward Bhagawan’s vision of Education for Life, not merely for a living.
