The Annual Sports and Cultural Meet of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), held every year on January 11, commenced in a grand and sacred manner with Bhagawan’s procession. The procession was accompanied by the SSSIHL Institute Brass Band, the Anantapur Campus Band, Higher Secondary School Girls’ Wing Bagpiper Band, a traditional slow march, bike escorts, and horses, creating a majestic and disciplined spectacle.
Upon Bhagawan’s ceremonial arrival, a March-past by all campuses was offered in reverential salute to Bhagawan, with 52 contingents comprising over 2,300 students participating. This was followed by the hoisting of the Institute Flag and the release of balloons and pigeons, symbolising peace and harmony. The torch was then lit and reverentially carried by the Pigeon Mascot to Hanuman Top, along with torchbearers representing each campus.
The program continued with vibrant presentations by the various campuses, featuring impressive formations and performances, including Zip-line formations, Gymnastics, Cycling displays, Drumbeats, Kalaripayattu, and Surya Namaskaram, beautifully showcasing discipline, strength, coordination, and unity.
The morning session reached a thrilling crescendo with mesmerising bike stunts performed by the Women’s Campus of SSSIHL, drawing admiration and applause from all present.
The program concluded with the offering of Mangala Arati to Bhagawan, bringing the morning session to a reverent and prayerful close.
