On this sacred Ladies’ Day—an occasion lovingly instituted by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in 1995 to honour the Divine Feminine and celebrate the purity, strength, and sanctity of womanhood—Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed an evening drenched in devotion, wisdom, and the transforming power of Nada Brahma. The august assembly witnessed the presence of His Holiness Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, President of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, and a sublime musical presentation by Smt Sudha Ragunathan, who led the vocal ensemble Nada Shakti as a tribute to Nari Shakti.
Chidanand Saraswati Ji spoke with a heart full of reverence for Bhagawan, whom he described not merely as a spiritual leader but as a Mahapurush who descended to light up humanity. He beautifully captured the essence of the moment when he said, “Baba is not gone. Baba is ‘ON’—every day, everywhere.” He recalled numerous experiences, including devotees receiving vibhuti from Baba’s murti, noting that Baba Himself was Vibhuti—purity, simplicity, and divine glory personified. He also reminisced about his 1987 visit when Baba spoke about the Encyclopedia of Hinduism. Baba had declared that Sanatan Dharma is the need of the hour—the universal path where all are one, beyond caste, creed, colour, region, or religion. He offered Baba’s profound interpretation of H.I.N.D.U.—
- H – Humanity & Humility
- I – Integrity
- N – Nobility
- D – Duty & Divinity
- U – Unity & Universality
He concluded in Hindi by saying, “The fragrance of the earth comes from good human beings, and the fragrance of human beings comes from insaniyat, born of seva, samarpan, tyaga, and prem.”
In the second part of the program, Smt Sudha Ragunathan led the musical presentation Nada Shakti—a tribute to Nari Shakti, celebrating the cosmic feminine force through the medium of sound. She defined Nada Shakti as the cosmic vibration that elevates consciousness, turning sound into prayer and prayer into inner transformation. She quoted the sublime truth: “Where there is Nada, there is Sai; where there is Sai, there is infinite peace.”
Smt Sudha reflected on Baba’s teachings that music is spiritual energy, and womanhood is the embodiment of divine compassion, purity, and strength.
Bhagawan had often said that bhajan is a conversation with God, and when the heart sings, the soul shines. With this foundation, she presented a series of compositions—each a fragrant garland offered at the lotus feet of the Lord.
The Musical Bouquet included Pranamami Sayeesha (First Kriti of the Sai Pancharatnas), Bho Shambho, Rama Nee Namam Yento Ruchira, Shobillu Saptaswara, Kurai Onrum Illai, etc. Sharing a touching personal anecdote on how the famous bhajan ‘Sai Baba Geeta Sudha’ was born when Baba lovingly promised to sing “a song made just for her “, she concluded with a prayer that when the world looks at Bhagawan’s devotees, they should see a reflection of Sai—in their kindness, their words, their service, and their song.
