New Year Celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam | Morning Proceedings | Jan 1, 2026

The New Year 2026 dawned at Prasanthi Nilayam with Veda chanting, as a large number of the alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Educational Institutions, having travelled from far and wide, sat in His Divine Presence, patiently awaiting a glimpse of the beloved Lord. The sacred atmosphere was filled with gratitude and quiet joy as the year began at His Lotus Feet.

The morning’s sacred proceedings commenced on a note of gratitude and celebration as the Institute Brass Band stepped into its 40th year of divine service. A soulful offering from them, which presented a series of beautiful musical pieces tracing the inception and journey of the band. The performance reflected the loving guidance and grooming provided by senior students and faculty over the years and concluded on a joyful note with a special New Year composition. Thereafter, the Nadaswaram ensemble offered a reverent rendition of a Thyagaraja Kriti, Endaro Mahanubhavulu, adding a classical and devotional touch to the morning.

The Prasanthi Bhajan Group then presented a deeply devotional musical offering comprising six songs, thoughtfully interwoven with inspiring incidents behind each composition. Songs such as ‘Sathya Dharmamu Shanti Premalato,’ ‘Sai Mata Biddalam Andaram,’ a Special Song dedicated to Swami’s 100th Birthday, soothing Hindi songs and an enchanting English devotional song were offered with profound love and gratitude, touching the hearts of all present.

As part of the ongoing Premabandham, Mr Siddharth Bhatt, an alumnus of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, shared heartfelt reflections from his student days. He beautifully reiterated that Swami is the ticket-holder of our journey of life, and that holding His hand is all that is needed to move forward safely. Concluding his talk, he recalled Swami’s gentle reminder to keep our hearts empty, so that He may come and reside within.

The morning also witnessed a touching expression of love as students from Swami’s various educational institutions offered New Year greeting cards, along with several cakes, as symbols of gratitude and joy.
