Prasanthi Nilayam is resplendent with festive joy as devotees from Kerala gathered to celebrate the sacred festival of Onam in the Divine Abode. The Sai Kulwant Hall, adorned with traditional floral decorations and colourful hangings, radiated the beauty and culture of God’s Own Country, transporting everyone into the spirit of the season.
The evening proceedings began with an inspiring address by Mr N K Premachandran, Member of Parliament, Kollam, who emphatically stated that true legacy is not built by rituals alone, but by the values we live and practice. Citing Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s teachings, he highlighted Selfless Service, Spirit of Sacrifice, and Universal Unity as the true essence of Onam. “Onam is a festival of love,” he said, reminding all that service to man is service to God, and it is through love and service that one can draw closer to the Divine.
Following this, the Balvikas girls of Sri Sathya Sai Vidyapeeth, Srisailam, presented a deeply moving drama titled ‘The Path of True Devotion’—the story of the great devotee Sabari, who embodied the truth that compassion for all beings is the highest expression of devotion to God. The children, through vibrant dances, colourful costumes, and heartfelt dialogues, powerfully portrayed how Sabari’s life of love, humility, and service culminated in receiving the supreme blessing of Lord Rama Himself.
The evening thus beautifully blended the cultural essence of Kerala with the eternal values of love and service, offering devotees a divine reminder of the true path to God.
