Ragi Java Program Extended for School Children in Andhra Pradesh | May 4, 2026

An Unparalleled Commitment to the Future of Andhra Pradesh

In a remarkable reaffirmation of its unwavering commitment to the welfare of school children, the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has announced the extension of its transformative Ragi Java (Ragi Malt) Seva for another three years, continuing until April 2029.

This morning, the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust signed the MoU extending the impactful Ragi Java Program. Sri Nara Lokesh garu, Minister for IT, Electronics, HRD & Real Time Governance and Sri RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, SSSCT, exchanged MoU in a formal meeting at Vijayawada. Sri Nara Lokesh garu lauded this nutrition program and thanked Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust for this noble initiative.

Rooted in the eternal teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, this noble initiative stands as a shining example of love in action, nurturing not just young bodies but the very foundation of the nation’s future.

Over the past three years, this large-scale nutrition program has reached an extraordinary number of over 30 lakh students across nearly 44,000 government schools in every district of Andhra Pradesh. With meticulous planning and selfless dedication, the Trust has supplied ragi flour and jaggery, absolutely free of cost, enabling the daily preparation of this wholesome health drink under the school nutrition initiative.

Ragi, one of nature’s most potent millets, is revered for its rich content of calcium, iron, and dietary fibre (essential nutrients for the growing child). Blended with jaggery, it becomes a nourishing, energy-rich drink that is both delicious and deeply sustaining. In many ways, this simple offering embodies a profound truth often emphasised by Bhagawan: that true education must be supported by physical well-being, and that “a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.”

Beyond statistics, the real impact of this seva is seen in the brighter faces, improved vitality, and enhanced attentiveness of millions of children. Teachers and administrators across the State have observed encouraging improvements in student health, school attendance, and classroom engagement, affirming the far-reaching benefits of this initiative.

The extension of the Ragi Java Seva until 2029 thus emerges as more than an administrative decision; it is a compassionate resolve to continue serving with love, consistency, and excellence. It reflects a deep understanding that nation-building begins with child nourishment, and that service rendered with purity becomes a powerful instrument of transformation. It seamlessly complements the efforts of the government, strengthening the larger vision of holistic education while ensuring that no child is deprived of essential nourishment.

As this initiative moves forward, it will continue to touch and transform countless young lives, empowering them to grow into strong, capable, and value-oriented citizens.

May Bhagawan Baba continue to bless all the Children
