As the most festive Centenary Year of the Divine Advent comes to a close and a new year is on the horizon, students from the educational institutions of Bhagawan offer their humble obeisance at the Feet of their Master in an expression of deep gratitude, love and legacy. This evening, the alumni from the Department of Performing Arts, SSSIHL, offered a heartfelt outpouring of love titled ‘Sai Sangeet Vandana’.
The evening unfolded as a rich confluence of traditions: Carnatic offerings opened the program with a reverential Saraswati Vandana and Tyagaraja’s ‘Sadinchine’. This was followed by devotional compositions of saint-poets, flowing seamlessly into Hindustani offerings, including a soulful bandish that explored the depths of bhava and melody. A spirited tabla solo then uplifted the atmosphere with rhythmic devotion, before the musical homage reached its poignant finale with a stirring qawwali, ‘Karte Hain Tere Sajda Sai’—a collective surrender at the Lotus Feet of Swami, the eternal teacher, guide, and guardian of their lives.
