The evening session of the New Year celebrations commenced on a sacred note with Vedam chanting, the traditional Vedam procession, and bhajans offered by the alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning (SSSIHL), sanctifying the atmosphere with collective devotion.
The traditional slow march followed this, reminiscent of the blessed journey Bhagawan would take from Yajur Mandir to Sai Kulwant Hall, accompanied by the Premabandham Flag, lovingly remembered as the flag blessed by Swami in 2004. On this sacred occasion, the alumni also presented ‘Vidyullekha’, the quarterly alumni newsletter, which chronicles life-transforming experiences and service initiatives undertaken across the globe. In addition, ‘A Bridge Across Time’, the 33rd volume of the Bhajan Album, was reverentially offered at His Divine Lotus Feet.
The proceedings then witnessed a powerful and energetic presentation by the Sri Sathya Sai Alumni Brass Band, featuring a vibrant and diverse repertoire that filled the hall with enthusiasm and rhythmic harmony.
The spiritual highlight of the evening was the drama presentation titled ‘Sarvam Tava Arpanam’. The play revolves around the protagonist, Arjun Sharma, a celebrated artist who seemingly possesses everything – name, fame, wealth, and success – yet remains burdened by an inner emptiness. Through subtle guidance and quiet inner awakening, Swami reveals that true fulfilment is not granted through miracles alone, but through the conscious choice to surrender and align one’s life with higher values.
The evening concluded with bhajans and Mangala Arati, bringing the New Year offering to a serene and prayerful close.
