Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam | Aug 16, 2025

Prasanthi Nilayam is awash in divine hues this morning as Sri Krishna Janmashtami is being celebrated today. Everywhere you look, soft blue confetti floats gently, and vibrant yellow hangings sway in the breeze—an ode to Krishna’s timeless attire symbolising Krishna’s divine, boundless nature, echoing his tranquil and transcendent presence. Yellow, like his iconic pitambara, radiates joy, prosperity, and auspiciousness. The combination of “neela” (blue) and “peetambara” (yellow) in the décor isn’t mere decoration—it’s a visual invocation of Krishna’s essence.

The Prasanthi Bhajan Group filled the sacred spaces with the resonant echo of stotrams and devotional melodies, each song a heartfelt homage to the Lord’s divine leelas.

Continuing the inspiring tradition, trustees and senior functionaries gathered to feed the sacred cows from Gokulam—just as Swami would do each Krishna Janmashtami. In a beautiful extension of this holy love, the compassion was also shared with fawns, birds, and even pet puppies residing within the premises. In this way, the spirit of service and reverence for all life was lovingly upheld.

“Karshati iti Krishna” – He who attracts is Krishna!

May this beautiful festival fill your heart with infinite peace, joy, and love.
