As the radiant lamp of devotion — the Akhanda Jyoti — continued to flicker through the sacred night, Prasanthi Nilayam once again became the beating heart of global prayer and divine vibration. The Sri Sathya Sai Global Akhanda Bhajan, which began last evening, reached its sanctified conclusion this evening — wrapping 24 continuous hours of soulful bhajans offered in pure love at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
Even as the temperature dipped last night, adding a serene stillness to the air, a gentle chill swept across the Ashram. Yet, the sound of claps rang louder and stronger — keeping rhythm with the devotees’ tireless vigil through the night. Their eyes beheld His divine form in the sacred Sannidhi, their lips ceaselessly chanting His Name — Sai Ram, Govinda, Allah, Yesu, Buddha, Mahaveera — echoing the very essence of the unity of all faiths that Bhagawan stood for.
From the early hours of dawn to the serene twilight, every corner of the Ashram resonated with the Name Divine. While some devotees offered prayers by circumambulating around Lord Ganesha in silent adoration, others took their turn in bhajan singing — batch after batch, group after group, class after class — ensuring that every single devotee had the sacred opportunity to offer their voice and heart to Bhagawan in this centennial special Akhanda Bhajan.
As the last bhajan ended, and when Swami’s melodious yet commanding voice was heard through the speakers singing “Govinda Krishna Jai,” whatever tiredness lingered until then vanished in an instant — and all voices united into one, joining in a joyous chorus with their Beloved Lord.
A sweet touch of devotion was seen in every corner — even in the canteen, where the staff had lovingly decorated the prasadam offered to Bhagawan by arranging roasted cashews and raisins in the shapes of ‘100’ and ‘SAI’, symbolising the sacred centenary. As always, sumptuous prasadam in the form of Pulihora (tamarind rice) and Chakkara Pongal (sweetened rice) was served to every devotee — nourishing not just the body, but also the mind and soul that had been elevated through the continuous remembrance of the Divine Name.
With the conclusion of this year’s Global Akhanda Bhajan, devotees across the world step closer to the grand Centenary Celebrations of the Advent of the Avatar — hearts overflowing with gratitude, unity, and the eternal message of Bhagawan: Love All, Serve All. Help Ever, Hurt Never.
