The Sri Sathya Sai Leadership Through Self-Transformation program entered a significant new phase in January 2026, reaffirming Bhagawan’s eternal message that leadership is not a position to be attained, but a state of being to be lived. A defining strength of the program is the seamless synergy of Head and Heart—the coming together of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, the fountainhead of wisdom and values, and the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations – India, the embodiment of love in action.
With Bhagawan’s divine blessings, the induction of the 7th batch of students and the valedictory of the 6th batch are being held at Prasanthi Nilayam over the next two days, benefiting over 900 participants. The program is a 12-month online certificate course offered for young adults aged 21 to 35, focusing on value-based leadership. It integrates spiritual disciplines with practical skill-building and culminates in real-life service projects aimed at personal transformation and societal upliftment—entirely inspired by Bhagawan’s teachings.
The proceedings began in a traditional and reverential manner with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the revered dignitaries. Prof Yoginder Verma, Convener, outlined the vision and structure of the course, emphasising that its philosophical foundation rests on Swami’s timeless sequence of Be, Do, See, and then Tell. This was followed by heartfelt sharing from two students of the program, who bore testimony to the profound inner and outer changes the journey has brought about in their lives.
Offering valuable insights from the realms of governance and public administration, Mr J Satyanarayana (IAS Retd), former IT Secretary to the Government of India and former Chairman of UIDAI (Aadhaar), drew a clear distinction between management and leadership. While management, he explained, is about execution—doing things right—leadership is about vision and courage—doing the right things.
In his keynote address, Mr Nimish Pandya (All India President – SSSO) described Prasanthi Nilayam as the “source”—likening it to the origin of the Ganga—where the very atmosphere and every breath provide the energy and direction needed to shape the future. He beautifully explained the “Key” and the “Note” of leadership: the Key being the ability to manage oneself while trusting that God has already provided all the inner tools required, and the Note being a constant remembrance that the ultimate goal is to strive for the excellence and character exemplified by Bhagawan.
