The birth anniversary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is an occasion of immense joy and reverence for devotees worldwide. This year holds even greater significance as it marks the centenary year of the Divine Advent, making it a momentous and historic celebration. In honor of this grand occasion, the Sai Youth of Andhra Pradesh presented a unique and creatively crafted evening program on the eve of Ugadi.

The evening’s presentation beautifully depicted a divine narrative—how the revered poets and devotees of yesteryears, who had the rare fortune of spending their lives in the divine proximity of Bhagawan until their last breath, gather in Swarga Loka (heavenly abode). In their celestial discussions, they express a deep yearning to return to Prasanthi Nilayam to relive their cherished moments at Bhagawan’s sacred Sannidhi (sanctum). With the divine blessing, they descend once more, not just to relive their experiences but to educate and enlighten devotees on their invaluable contributions and divine encounters with Bhagawan.

The program paid homage to the following distinguished poets:

  1. Prof. N. Kasturi – The esteemed author of Sathyam Shivam Sundaram, a biographical masterpiece on the life and message of Bhagawan Baba.
  2. Cherukumalli Kamavadhani – A revered poet and scholar who contributed significantly to spiritual literature.
  3. Gandikota Subramanya Sastri – The visionary behind Sai Gayatri, a powerful invocation to Bhagawan.
  4. Jandhyala Papayya Sastry (Karuna Sri) – A poet of great depth, known for his heart-touching compositions.
  5. Jandhyala Venkateswara Sastry (Shanthi Sri) – The esteemed author of Tapovanam, an extraordinary literary offering narrating the divine story of Swami. Jammalamadaka Madhava Rama Sharma – The remarkable author of Sri Sathya Sai Puranam, an epic work comprising 40,000 Sanskrit slokas.
  6. Veluri Shiva Rama Sastry – A distinguished literary figure dedicated to Telugu poetry.
  7. Ratnakaram Seshama Raju – A key contributor to Sai literature & Sanathana Sarathi magazine.
  8. Dhupati Tirumalacharyulu – The revered author of Sri Sathya Sai Suprabhatam, the sacred morning prayer dedicated to Swami.
  9. Deepala Pichaiah Sastry – A renowned poet with contributions to spiritual literature.
  10. Rama Sharma (Venkatagiri) – A highly respected literary scholar and poet.
  11. The evening unfolded as a poetic symphony, with melodious recitations and insightful discussions on the significance of these literary stalwarts. The program highlighted the deep spiritual essence embedded in their verses and how their compositions continue to guide and inspire generations of devotees. The profound influence of these poets was evident as their compositions resonated with the audience, evoking devotion and reverence.
