With the Divine blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences SSSIHMS), Whitefield, witnessed the convergence of spirituality, advanced medical care, and sustainable innovation this morning.
The day’s proceedings began with the Murti Sthāpana of Lord Ganapati at the hospital’s main entrance. The consecration of the benevolent, standing-form Ganapati idol was carried out amidst Vedic chants and traditional rituals, in the presence of Mr RJ Rathnakar (Managing Trustee, SSSCT), Dr Sundaresh DC (Director, SSSIHMS – WFD), senior doctors, and staff. Enshrined in an ornate mandapa, the idol now stands as a divine sentinel, bestowing blessings upon all who enter the premises.
Continuing the day’s events, this temple of healing inaugurated three state-of-the-art echocardiography machines, significantly enhancing its cardiac diagnostic and surgical capabilities. The new installations include two Philips EPIC CVX v11 echo systems and one GE Vivid Ultra E95 R6, deployed across the Cardiac Surgery Operation Theatre, Cath Lab, and Cardiac OPD. In addition, an existing GE system was upgraded to the latest version. Notably, the Philips VM11 version software introduced here is the first of its kind to be installed in India and Europe.
These systems integrate AI-powered automation, 3D/4D imaging, and high-resolution cardiac mapping, dramatically improving diagnostic accuracy, surgical planning, and outpatient efficiency. The Central Trust’s investment of over ₹1 crore per unit underscores its commitment to offering the best healthcare, completely free of cost.
In a further step toward modernisation and environmental stewardship, the hospital commissioned a 220 TR Bluestar Water-Cooled Screw Chiller, replacing older systems that used phased-out R-22 refrigerant. The new system, utilising eco-friendly R-134a, supports critical care units, including ICUs, Cath Labs, and OTs. The upgrade includes revamped MS pipelines, energy-efficient flow control systems, and thermal insulation, ensuring uninterrupted cooling in vital zones.
This triple-fold initiative—spiritual upliftment, technological advancement, and environmental sustainability—reinforces SSSIHMS Whitefield’s mission of delivering world-class, compassionate, and sustainable healthcare, entirely free of cost, as envisioned by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
