With the Divine blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the sacred festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in a heart-warming and traditional manner by the Bal Vikas children with the Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, Mr RJ Rathnakar.
Raksha Bandhan, an age-old tradition deeply rooted in India’s cultural fabric, is a celebration of the bond of love, protection, and trust between a brother and a sister. The simple act of tying the rakhi—a sacred thread—symbolises not just the promise of protection, but also the eternal values of care, mutual respect, and affection.
With smiles that spoke a thousand words, they lovingly tied rakhis and offered him sweets in the traditional way. The warmth of the moment was enhanced as he affectionately enquired about their well-being, their studies, and their aspirations. In a gesture of love and encouragement, he presented each child with a token of love.
For the children, it was an unforgettable memory; for the onlookers, it was a touching reminder of the cultural heritage and human values that Bal Vikas strives to instil.
