‘Twamevaham’ – You and I are One | Drama Presentation by the Devotees from New Zealand | Christmas Celebrations at Prasanthi | Dec 21, 2025

The devotees from New Zealand, on a week-long pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam, have come to soak in the divine blessings of this most auspicious Centenary Year. Adding a special sparkle to their sacred sojourn, they were lovingly entrusted with the responsibility of Christmas decorations in and around the Ashram, transforming Prasanthi into a radiant expression of joy, devotion, and unity.

The sacred evening unfolded as a gentle yet powerful reminder of the eternal truth proclaimed alike by Christ and Swami — “I and the Father are One.”

In his deeply contemplative address, Mr Singanayagam Indrapalan, Chair, Zone 3 of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, drew the hearts of the assembled devotees inward. He emphasised that Christmas at Prasanthi Nilayam is not merely a celebration, but a living confluence of faiths, where devotees from every land and belief rejoice together in the brotherhood of man and the fatherhood of God, under the same sky and in the presence of the same Divine Love.

Elaborating on the spiritual path common to both Jesus and Swami, he spoke of the three stages of inner evolution — beginning as a messenger of God through selfless action, progressing to a son of God by erasing selfishness, and finally merging into oneness with the Divine.

This lofty ideal found a vibrant and moving expression in the drama presented by the New Zealand devotees. The narrative follows the journey of a scientist from Auckland whose attempt to witness Bhagawan’s advent through a time-travel experiment leads him into an unexpected spiritual odyssey. Overshooting his destination, he arrives in Aotearoa in 1825, where wise Māori elders introduce him to ‘Te Wairua’ — the all-pervading life force flowing through nature and humanity alike.

What begins as a scientific mishap gradually transforms into a soul-awakening pilgrimage. Through a series of poignant vignettes, the drama beautifully illustrated God’s omnipresence — Hanuman realising that true Seva is love in action at every moment, Jesus teaching that all are branches of the one divine vine, and Shirdi Baba revealing the truth of Divinity by appearing as the hungry dog driven away from an offering. Each episode echoed the same refrain: to serve any being is to serve God Himself.

The climax gently yet powerfully lifted the veil, revealing that the outward journey through time was, in truth, an inward journey of realisation — the dawning understanding that the Lord had never been absent, but had been present all along, within and without.
