Vishu Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam | April 14, 2025

As the golden rays of the rising sun gently embraced the sacred abode of Prasanthi Nilayam, an air of divinity and devotion permeated the atmosphere. In a vibrant drape of colours and cultures, devotees from Kerala and Tamil Nadu draped in resplendent traditional attire assembled in joyous unison to usher in their respective New Years, Vishu and Puthandu, in the immediate Divine OmniPresence of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.

A splendidly adorned Vishukkani arrangement, radiating auspiciousness and spiritual abundance, graced the beautifully decorated Sannidhi, symbolising prosperity, fresh beginnings, and the ever-flowing grace of the Divine. With palms joined in reverence and hearts overflowing with gratitude, devotees offered their first sacred prayers of the year at His Lotus Feet, seeking blessings for a year filled with peace, purpose, and divine love.

The morning’s proceedings were further sanctified by a thought-provoking address delivered by Hon’ble Justice Murali Purushothaman of the Kerala High Court. Reflecting deeply on the significance of Vishu, he traced the spiritual narrative of Lord Krishna’s triumph over Narakasura, interweaving cherished customs such as Vishukkani and Vishukkaineettam with messages of inner awakening. With heartfelt humility, he shared the poignant experience of celebrating his first Vishu away from home—finding instead a divine home in Prasanthi Nilayam. Touching upon the inspiring humanitarian initiatives of Bhagawan under the tri-fold mission of Educare, Medicare, and Sociocare, he expressed profound admiration for the selfless service rendered by the Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital. Concluding with a soul-stirring prayer, he humbly sought Swami’s grace to grant him the sacred opportunity to serve in His hallowed medical mission. The morning then blossomed into a musical offering of sublime devotion as Ms Abhirami Ajai and her team captivated the gathering with a cascade of soul-touching bhajans and classical compositions. Calling it ‘Madhura Bhakti’, each note was a fragrant floral tribute at the Feet of the Lord. The celestial vibrations that emanated from the music elevated the collective consciousness, leaving the gathering immersed in divine bliss and spiritual renewal.
