On the proud and sacred occasion of India’s 77th Republic Day, students from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School presented a spiritually elevating drama, ‘Yat Kathitam Tat Karye Niyujyate (Sanskrit), originally authored as Cheppinattu Chestara by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in His childhood, when He was just twelve years old.
Through beautiful acting and powerful dialogues, faithfully drawn from Swami’s own script, the students brought alive a timeless message of righteousness and integrity. The drama vividly unfolded the essence of Trikarana Suddhi – the perfect harmony of thought, word, and deed – a principle that forms the bedrock of Swami’s teachings.
Set against everyday situations, the play gently yet firmly exposed the contradictions between preaching values and practising them. With remarkable maturity, the young performers portrayed how hypocrisy in charity, education, and truth erodes the moral fabric of society. The poignant climax served as a mirror to all, reaffirming Swami’s eternal message that “an ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching.”
What lent the presentation special sanctity was the students’ offering of the drama in chaste Sanskrit, as an expression of heartfelt gratitude to Bhārata Bhāgya Vidhātā Himself – on a day that celebrates India’s identity as a sovereign republic rooted in Dharma, Sathya, and Ahimsa.
The performance stood as a reverential tribute to the nation, seamlessly blending patriotism with spirituality, and reminding all present that the strength of the Republic lies not merely in its Constitution, but in the character of its citizens. The students’ sincere effort, aesthetic presentation, and deep absorption of Bhagawan’s message made the offering both uplifting and unforgettable.
