Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed a deeply moving and sacred moment on the serene eve of Buddha Poornima, as devotees from Zones 4 & 5 of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, representing diverse cultures and spiritual paths, gathered in reverential silence. Joined by venerable Buddhist monks, they assembled in Bhagawan’s divine presence to mark this holy occasion with devotion and unity.
As twilight gently embraced the horizon and the soft purple hues of dusk gave way to the brilliance of the full moon, the atmosphere turned profoundly meditative. Following the Mangala Arati, the sacred proceedings commenced with a graceful welcome band presentation by schoolgirls from Nepal. Mr RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, along with the venerable monks from Nepal, performed the ceremonial unveiling of the Buddha idol, decorated next to the East Prasanthi building, adjacent to Sai Kulwant Hall.
The ceremony was graced by coordinators, functionaries, and devotees, all immersed in silent contemplation. The sanctity of the moment was elevated by the rhythmic chanting of sacred Pali verses by the monks. One of the monks offered insightful reflections on the significance of Buddha Poornima, as a gentle breeze flowed through the gathering, seemingly nature’s own tribute to the sacred occasion.
Bathed in the silvery glow of the full moon, the statue’s polished surface shimmered with a quiet majesty, evoking a sense of timeless serenity.
