The concluding session of the Parthi Yatra by devotees from Haryana and Chandigarh unfolded as a deeply inspiring offering of devotion, wisdom and gratitude at Prasanthi Nilayam. The highlight of the session was a thought-provoking drama titled “Ashtavakra: Journey from Advaita to Sai Prema,” presented by the Bal Vikas girls from Yamunanagar, Haryana.
Through a compelling blend of dialogue, music and drama, the presentation brought alive the story of the young sage Ashtavakra, who, despite his physical deformity, possessed extraordinary spiritual wisdom. The drama beautifully connected this timeless narrative with Bhagawan’s teachings, highlighting that true beauty and greatness lie in the indwelling Divine rather than in the physical form. Hailing from simple rural backgrounds, the young performers demonstrated how Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas can nurture confidence, clarity and character, enabling young hearts to blossom into instruments of Divine love.
Addressing the gathering, Dr R B Kharb, State President, recalled Bhagawan’s historic visit to Kurukshetra on April 2, 1972, when, at the invitation of former Prime Minister Mr Gulzari Lal Nanda, Bhagawan attended the All India Sadhu Samaj conference. At a time when modern means of communication were yet to emerge, nearly three lakh people gathered to receive His Darshan and listen to His message. He then highlighted the growth of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations since the 1970s. Today, the Organisation has a presence through 50 Samitis across 15 districts and 12 service centres, along with several significant service initiatives, including an old age home in Chandigarh and the Sri Sathya Sai Girls Senior Secondary School, Hisar, where around 350 girls receive education enriched with values and character development.
