The 80th Independence Day of Bharat was commemorated with solemnity, devotion and patriotic fervour at Prasanthi Nilayam. The celebrations, held within the sacred precincts of the Ashram, brought together residents and staff members serving in various offices and departments, united in love and reverence for the Motherland.
The proceedings commenced with the singing of Vande Mataram, filling the atmosphere with a deep sense of gratitude. Thereafter, Mr RJ Rathnakar, Managing Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust, hoisted the National Flag, as all present stood in reverence and saluted the Tricolour. With the National Flag soaring high, everyone joined in singing the National Anthem, paying their respects to the nation and to the countless sacrifices that have shaped Bharat’s journey as a free nation.
The celebrations concluded with fervent chants of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, as the gathering expressed its deepest gratitude to the Bharata Bhagya Vidhata — Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who taught generations that true patriotism lies in loving the nation, serving its people and living by the eternal values of Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Non-violence.
