Avatar Declaration Day Celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam | Oct 20, 2026

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the seventh day of the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha, coinciding with the sacred occasion of Avatar Declaration Day and Vijayadashami, was marked by a series of devotional offerings at Prasanthi Nilayam, celebrating the divine advent and the timeless message of the Sai Avatar.

The cultural proceedings commenced with a humble and reverential procession of alumnae from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School for Girls and Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, representing several decades and batches. Proceeding from Bhagawan’s residence, Yajur Mandir, the procession was accompanied by Poornakumbham, Nadaswaram, Vedic chanting and the beautifully adorned representations of the Nava Matas, creating a spiritually vibrant atmosphere.

The girls of Smt Eswaramma High School then offered the invocatory Bhagya Suktam, invoking auspiciousness and divine blessings on this sacred occasion.

The evening’s principal offering was ‘Shakti Swararpanam’, a devotional musical presentation by the alumnae. Celebrating the Divine Mother as the embodiment of wisdom, compassion and supreme power, the multilingual repertoire traversed Sanskrit, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and English, weaving together classical and devotional traditions. The compositions included Ma Saraswati Sharade, Sri Chakra Raja Simhasaneshwari, Poojani Ko Maiya Pyari and Sai Satyam Sai Nityam. An English choral interlude, Mother You Give Me Happiness, expressed gratitude for the boundless love and care of the Divine Mother, while the concluding devotional medley, Ja

ya Jaya Mangala Sai Namo, celebrated the all-pervading divinity of Bhagawan.

Adding a heartfelt expression of gratitude, students from the northeastern states of India and Nepal, where Dasara is celebrated with great fervour, offered colourful greeting cards to Bhagawan, conveying their love, devotion and reverence to their beloved Swami.

The evening’s offerings commemorated October 20, 1940, when young Sathya made His divine identity known to the world, marking the beginning of a mission that continues to inspire humanity towards love, righteousness and spiritual awakening. The proceedings served as a reminder that the true celebration of the Avatar lies in imbibing His teachings and manifesting them in daily life.
