Prasanthi Nilayam reverberated with devotion, gratitude, and youthful spiritual fervour as more than 1,000 participants from Odisha, comprising Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas children, Gurus, parents, youth, and students from various Sai Schools, have gathered for a two-day Parthi Yatra at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The morning session commenced with a specially prepared audiovisual presentation that highlighted Odisha’s collective offering for the Centenary celebrations. It showcased the state-wide resolve of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Odisha, to dedicate an entire year to strengthening Bal Vikas activities across every Sai centre. The initiative seeks to expand the reach and spirit of Bal Vikas by training new Gurus, inspiring youth participation, empowering women volunteers, and carrying the message of human values into homes, schools, and communities across Odisha.
One striking affirmation echoed throughout the presentation: “We are in Bal Vikas, we are for Bal Vikas, and we are of Bal Vikas.”
An insightful and inspiring address by Mr Amiya Ranjan Kanungo (State Education Coordinator, SSSSO, Odisha) followed next. Seamlessly weaving together divine history, personal experience, and practical spirituality, the speaker illustrated the enduring impact of Bhagawan’s educational vision. Drawing from his own Bal Vikas journey, he underscored that Bal Vikas is not confined to classrooms or weekly sessions; rather, it permeates every dimension of daily life by instilling the awareness that God is neither distant nor separate, but resides within every being. In a simple yet profound reflection, he defined: “Prayer is talking to God; meditation is listening to God.” The session concluded with a collective prayer led by the speaker, invoking Bhagawan as the eternal companion: “a friend ever by my side”, followed by prayers for universal peace and well-being.
