On March 29, 1979, a momentous event unfolded in the humble village of Nagarkurnool as Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba set His foot on its soil. This divine visit marked the beginning of a profound transformation, turning a modest village into a beacon of spiritual and social upliftment. Bhagawan installed a sacred idol of Shirdi Sai Baba in the town, signifying a new era of devotion and community unity. This act became a cornerstone for the village’s spiritual rejuvenation.
In those days, Nagarkurnool was a simple, remote hamlet, with barely any facilities or development. Through heartfelt narrations from the devotees who were blessed to witness that unforgettable day, today’s presentation painted a vivid picture of how Bhagawan’s mere touch transformed the destiny of their village forever. The program was beautifully interspersed with colourful and energetic dances by the children, bringing to life the joy, devotion, and gratitude that still resonates in every corner of the village. Each performance echoed the profound love and grace experienced by the people when Bhagawan set His Foot on their soil.
The impact of Bhagawan’s presence was immediate and deeply personal for many. One devotee, while garlanding Him, sought His blessings and was blessed with a daughter immediately, for which he had been praying for over 8 years, a testament to the divine grace that touched the lives of the villagers. In another instance, a devotee’s life was miraculously saved during a drive while he was engrossed in reading the Sanathana Sarathi, highlighting the protective aura of Bhagawan. Bhagawan’s influence extended beyond spiritual blessings. A generous donation of 33 acres of land facilitated the establishment of medical camps in Channagramam, providing essential healthcare services to the underserved. These camps have been instrumental in offering eye care to thousands, including post-operative support, and have witnessed miraculous recoveries, such as that of a cancer patient who found healing through the compassionate care inspired by Bhagawan.
Education and self-reliance became pillars of the village’s development. Skill development centres were established, empowering residents with vocational training and fostering self-sustaining livelihoods. Service activities flourished, with initiatives like the Akhanda Jyoti lamp brought from Prasanthi Nilayam being lit in every home, symbolising the eternal protection and guidance of Bhagawan. This sacred flame serves as a constant reminder of the divine presence and the collective commitment to uphold the principles of love, service, and righteousness.
The morning session witnessed devotees chanting the Gayatri Mantra and offering sacred rice grains in a spirit of gratitude and prayer.
