The third day of the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha, being held as part of the sacred Devi Navaratri and Dasara celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam, featured an insightful talk and a devotional music offering by the students of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, Anantapur Campus.
The proceedings commenced with an invocatory chanting of Saraswati Ghanapatha by the Anantapur students, invoking the blessings of the Goddess of Knowledge.
Dr Sowmya Srinivasan, Dean, Student Welfare, SSSIHL, delivered an illuminating address titled ‘Worship of Shakti – An Inward Quest’. Reflecting on the sixth day of Sharad Navaratri, dedicated to Goddess Katyayani, she elaborated on the Divine Mother’s manifestation. Explaining the deeper symbolism of the Goddess annihilating demonic forces, she emphasised that true spiritual progress lies in conquering the ego within. Citing the Gopikas’ unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna, she highlighted how humility, selfless love and complete surrender lead one closer to the Divine.
The program continued with ‘Nadasamanvayam’, a devotional music presentation featuring Durgashtakam, Neelameghashyamalanga, Anandamritakarshini Amritavarshini, Jaya Jaya Jaga Janani Devi, an instrumental fusion presentation, and Poojintumu Mana Sai Nee (old Arati song).
