As the overcast skies slowly gave way to gentle shafts of golden sunlight, a refreshing breeze swept through the beautifully adorned Sai Kulwant Hall, carrying with it the fragrance of fresh blossoms from the divine sannidhi. Every sight and every sensation stirred tender memories of those blessed mornings when Bhagawan would walk amidst His devotees. Against this serene backdrop, thousands of devotees from India and abroad gathered in prayerful silence as the resonant chanting of the Vedas marked the commencement of the Guru Poornima celebrations, ushering everyone into an atmosphere of profound devotion and gratitude.
Followed by the traditional strains of Nadaswaram and the vibrant rhythms of Panchavadyam presented by students from SSSIHL. The Prasanthi Bhajan Group then offered a deeply moving Guru Vandana, interwoven with soulful Guru Stotrams. Through reflective narration and devotional music, the presentation extolled Bhagawan as the Supreme Guru—Gunateeta and Rupavarjita—the One beyond all attributes and forms. It beautifully traced the seeker’s journey from mistaking worldly teachers for Gurus to ultimately finding the Sadguru in Bhagawan, culminating in a heartfelt prayer for universal peace and an earnest appeal for humanity to heed the Divine voice within.
In his inaugural address, Mr S S Naganand (Member, SSSCT) reflected on the supreme purpose of human life and the indispensable role of the Guru in guiding humanity towards that ultimate goal. Emphasising the importance of constant Bhagavat Chintana, he drew upon the episode of King Parikshit and Shamika Maharshi from the Srimad Bhagavatam to illustrate the transformative power of unwavering God-remembrance.
The second speaker, Mr Nimish Pandya (AIP, SSSSO), spoke about the nationwide Prema Pravahini initiative, during which Bhagawan’s sacred Padukas travelled across the length and breadth of India. Referring to timeless Guru-disciple relationships such as Ekalavya, Nachiketa, and Lord Krishna with Arjuna, he emphasised the ideals of faith, surrender, and unquestioning obedience.
The morning also witnessed the inauguration of a newly designed Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital, a significant addition to Bhagawan’s mission of taking free, quality healthcare to the doorsteps of rural communities. Introducing the initiative, Dr K Narasimhan (Director, Sri Sathya Sai Mobile Hospital) spoke about Bhagawan’s visionary concept of healthcare that reaches those who cannot access it. Supported by more than 350 volunteer doctors, the Mobile Hospital has, for over two decades, seamlessly blended science with spirituality by serving villages every single day rather than functioning as an occasional medical camp.
He explained that the hospital’s comprehensive diagnostic facilities enable patients to undergo investigations within their own villages, with medicines dispensed immediately through the on-board pharmacy. He also acknowledged the contribution of Mr Shankar Plenjeri, a long-standing devotee, and Apeiron Industries, which designed the new state-of-the-art facility. Inspired by this model, the Government of Kerala has announced plans to introduce ten similar mobile hospitals across the state.
With the divine blessings of Swami, the newly commissioned Mobile Hospital was formally inaugurated in the divine presence by esteemed Trustees and functionaries amidst other dignitaries, marking yet another milestone in Bhagawan’s enduring legacy of love and selfless service.
