Commencement of Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna | Oct 14, 2026

With the Divine Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the sacred Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna commenced this morning at Prasanthi Nilayam as part of the ongoing Devi Navaratri and Dasara celebrations.

The morning commenced with sacred rituals and prayers in the Bhajan Hall, including Kumkuma Archana to the sacred Kalasha. The Kalasha was then ceremonially carried in a procession to the Poornachandra Auditorium, accompanied by the spiritual fervour of the auspicious occasion.

The traditional invocation of Agni, performed through the churning of wooden sticks, marked the commencement of the Yajna. The sacred flame was ceremonially transferred to the Yajna Kundam, following which the priests performed the Rudra Homam, offering oblations into the sacred fire with prayers for universal peace, harmony and the welfare of all beings.

The proceedings also featured Sahasra Lingarchana, the worship of 1,000 sacred clay Lingams, symbolising the all-pervading nature of Divinity. Surya Namaskar was performed in reverence to the Sun, the source of light and sustenance for all life. Adding to the spiritual sanctity of the occasion, the Parayanam of the Ramayana, Srimad Bhagavatam and Devi Mahatmyam was undertaken, while Bhagawan’s students chanted the sacred verses of the Devi Mahatmyam, filling the auditorium with profound devotional fervour.

The Poornachandra Auditorium witnessed a large gathering of devotees who joined in this auspicious commencement of the week-long Yajna. The sacred chants, Vedic recitations and offerings into the Yajna fire created an atmosphere of deep devotion, prayer and spiritual contemplation.

Instituted by Bhagawan Himself in 1962, the Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna represents His enduring vision of preserving Vedic wisdom and upholding the eternal principles of Sanathana Dharma. Through these sacred observances, devotees reaffirm their prayers for universal welfare and rededicate themselves to the timeless values of devotion, selfless service and righteousness.
